Anthony Rowe, Producer

Tony has a long career in TV drama and documentary. He has worked on well known BBC series including Monty Python's Flying Circus, The Two Ronnies and Casualty. He was the producer of BBC flagship drama series "Howards' Way" before setting up About Face Media in Northern Ireland. He has produced some of the most important films for television about Northern Ireland in recent years including "As The Beast Sleeps", "Life After Life", and the Emmy-nominated "The Precious Blood" all for Screen Two on the BBC. Three more films are in development. His relationship with writers such as Graham Reid and Gary Mitchell continues to produce cutting edge drama. His documentaries include Act of Faith made with prisoners over one month inside Maghaberry Gaol. Last year he produced the innovative 70-minute BBC drama "Rap at The Door", and was executive producer for BBC film series "Weird Shorts." He executive produced "The Maternity", a major six-part BBC fly-on-the-wall series about the Belfast Royal Maternity Hospital, and its successor "The Children's". His documentary Horsepower got behind the scenes at the Grand National, and he is Executive Producer on Blind Ambition, and Families SOS, BBC with Geoffrey Beattie.

 
 
Michael Appleton, Producer

Michael Appleton has made human interest, history, political and current affairs documentaries for the BBC and Channel Four. He produced "We Shall Overcome" (BBC2) about the Civil Rights story in Northern Ireland, winner of the Celtic Film Festival, was consultant producer for Channel Four on its "Disappeared" documentary, and producer of The Missing for the BBC - both dealing with secret burials during the Northern Ireland conflict. His new series, The Ulster Generals with Col Tim Collins analyses the crucial battles for Egypt in 1941 and 42 for the first time on TV. He produced The Trouble With Peace for Channel Four (Straight Forward Productions) after the IRA ceasefire, and the award winning BBC Everyman documentary Facing The Enemy which followed secret encounters between the IRA Brighton bomber Patrick Magee and Jo Berry, the woman whose father he killed. He recently produced the Shrinking Childhoods series for Channel Four, and is currently in production on a series on war ships and naval battles. His writing has appeared in The Washington Times, The Observer, The Times and United Press International.

 
 
Karen Bowen, Producer

Karen has worked with About-Face Media for the past 8 years. Recent Credits include IFTA and RTS Sports Awards nominated BBC NI documentary 'Martin O'Neill, Man and Bhoy' and 'Blind Ambition' chronicling the road to recovery of Dr Janet Gray, Blind Water-Ski World Champion after a near fatal training accident. 'The Next Best Thing' captured Northern Ireland's record goalscorer David Healy's rise to fame and 'Horsepower' followed the fortunes of top NI jockeys A.P. McCoy, Tony Dobbin and Richard Dunwoody at the Grand National. Karen's forthcoming production 'A Portrait of Pantridge' is a multi-layered documentary for BBCNI profiling the hidden history of Professor Frank Pantridge, universally renowned Ulster cardiologist interwoven with the painstaking progress of a lifesize sculpture to be unveiled in his memory. Karen's keen interest in sport also keeps her in demand in the BBC Sports Dept where she has worked on the Belfast Telegraph Sports Awards for the past 6 years as well as on a number of documentaries.

 
 
Seamus Devine, Production Manager

Seamus graduated from the University of Ulster Jordanstown in 2003 with a 2:1 in BA Business Studies. He joined About Face Media in January 2002 on the programme finance side and subsequently moved into production. Seamus also looks after co-production, broadcast partnership and the Northern Ireland Film Commission side of About Face Media's film and TV output. Productions he has worked on in various capacities include The Royal Series 1 and 2, Families SOS, The East Wing, Suffering and Martin O Neill "Man and Bhoy." He was production co-ordinator on "Blind Ambition" and "The Year I turned 13" both for the BBC. And he Production Managed "The Ulster Generals" series filmed in Egypt and Libya.
